Genre #2 Assassin Thriller 

Okay now let’s talk Assassin Thriller because it’s basically the same thing but focused on the killing itself. The tension, the preparation, the secrecy 
it’s everything. I love that in just 2 minutes you can make people sweat even before the shot happens. Professional killer vibes, planning, texting boss, pretending everything is chill… classic.

Assassin Thrillers are all about close-ups, pacing, tension, and precision. Think Leon: The Professional, John Wick, Collateral. Every little move counts. Like, putting on shoes, hoodie, hat, checking gun, text messages… audience is like “wait, what’s happening here?” That’s the point.

My script has the casual breakfast stuff, then the prep montage, then asking about the band, then text boss, boom kill. All tight, all suspense. Shots on the phone screen, hands, POV of the target, little pause before the gunshot. It’s subtle but it hits.

Inspo: Leon for quiet precision, John Wick for choreographed suspense, Hitman, The Bourne Identity, Collateral. All of them nail tension and pacing. That’s exactly what I want small moments that feel normal until it’s suddenly not.
